Madhesi leaders aligned on Sasyukta Lotantik Madhesi Morcha who have recently returned from Delhi after holding political talks with Indian leaders have stressed on the package deal again in the tripartite meeting held in Kathmandu on Thursday between ruling parties, main opposition Nepali party congress and the Madhesi Morcha although they have agreed to allow the reconstruction authority bill process in the parliament.
Ruling collation parties  and the Nepali congress have proposed to finalize the state demarcation through high level parliamentary commission within 3 months which Morcha has set as their bottom line of the consensus.
Sanyukta Samajbadi Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav and Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Chairman Mahant Thakur participated in today’s tripartite meeting who returned from India last night. Other leaders Rajendra Mahato and Mahendra Yadav are still in Delhi for further meeting with various leaders in Delhi.
After Morcha’s opinion, Prime Minister KP Oli who also took part at today’s talks has said that they will reply to Morcha after holding discussion among ruling parties and the main opposition Congress. Oli has also requested Morcha to assist on constitution amendment process.
Current political roadmap was possible after foreign minister Kamal Thapa visited India last week and put forward 3 points proposal which included amendment in constitution tabled by earlier government of Nepali Congress, end of Border Blockade by Morcha and finalization of state demarcation through high level parliamentary commission within 3 months. After the proposal, Madhesi leaders went to India for political meetings where they got the similar suggestion from Indian leaders but Madhesi leaders haven’t decided yet whether they will change the nature of agitation ending the border blockade which has caused immense scarcity of petroleum  and other commodities in Nepal since last 2 months.
