Kathmandu, June 22: The Tribhuvan international Airport (TIA) would remain closed for half an hour on Friday for the air safety drill.
The international airport would remain closed from 4.30 pm to 5.00 pm for short-term plan to make airport mechanism well-placed and efficient for emergency and for rehearsal.
During the period, all domestic and international flights would be halted. The is to be carried out to orient the authorities concerned on aid accident, shared TIA Spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur.
He further shared that the airport with international recognition shall undertake full scale emergency exercise in accordance with the regulation of International Civil Aviation Organization.
Such exercise has been undertaken in different places and in 2071 BS it was done at Sangha Centre of Bhaktapur.
The Airport had undertaken 15-minute pre-exercise this afternoon. It was done in coordination among Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, quick response fire fighting service and medical team, shared Spokesperson Thakur.
A bamboo-made aircraft has been developed nearby the airport. The plane crash and subsequent rescue exercise would be carried out there
