When the stimulated date for promulgating new constitution Magh 8 is nearing, the major political parties have failed to forge the consensus on major political agendas including federalism. The Dialogue and Consensus Committee headed by Maoist leader and opposition leader Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai was was unable to come up with the common draft within the many added time frame that led the governing parties to seek option to follow the procedure in the Interim constitution. Nepali Congress and CPN UML along with several fringe parties were preparing to form a committee which will prepare the Question Sheet to be presented in the Parliament to decide by the majority voting but CPN Maoist and some Madhesh based parties didn’t agree with the process and blocked the process once the Speaker of the House Subhash Nemwang asked for the proposal in the house. Opposition PMs shouted and protested blocking the process and vandalized the furniture and sound system inside the hall , three bodyguards are injured while trying to stop them. Speaker of the House Suwash Nemwang has put off the meeting until 1 pm today.
