nepal defeats maldives 4-3 in sag semifinal
In a breathtaking semifinal match between Nepal and Maldives played at Guwahati India, Nepal has beaten Maldives 4-3 to enter the finals of 12th SAG (South Asian Games).Nepal will face India for the Gold Medal in the final.
Anjan Bista scored on the fifteenth minutes to register leading goal for Nepal which became double on 36th minutes with a goal by rising star Nawayug Shrestha.The first half finished with Nepal leading by 2-0.
As match continued , Mohammad Hamja scored on 52nd minutes for Maldives which gave them more hope on equalizing the score.
Unfortunately Nepal’s Kamal Shrestha got his 2nd Yellow Card on the 65th minutes and left the ground which became beneficial for Maldives.Ahmad Naasid scored on the 85th minutes taking advantage of ten men in Nepal team that completed the regular 90 minutes on 2-2 score.
Match then went for extra time where no team could score until the 115 minutes but Hasan Naaij thrashed Nepal scoring on the 115 minutes giving 3-2 lead for Maldives that left Nepalese fan into tears. It was almost impossible for Nepal to re-bounce  with ten men at that last hour.
But Nepalese team with high confidence from Bangabandhu Gold Cup didn’t stop and Nawayug Shrestha scored on 120th minutes that again equalized the score 3-3.Ha-trick Man didn’t stop here and again within 2 minutes on the last minutes of the injury time, Nawayug Shrestha completed his hat-trick giving Nepal dramatic 4-3 win.
Nepal now will face India in the final for the Gold Medal on Moday, 15h February 2016.
