A Mountain Air helicopter 9N-AJP has crashed at Yamunadanda of Sindhupalchok which had frown off Kathmandu to Sindhupalchok carrying medical team for earthquake victims. All 4 on the board including 3 medical team and captain Subeg Shrestha have been killed in the crash. The 9N-AJP Reddish Yellow Chopper has crashed at Shila Parbat forest of Yamuna Danda, a km from Balefi of Sindhupalchok district.
4 bodies one of captain Mr Subeg Shrestha, Dr. Sandeep Mahat, Mr. Sher Bahadur Karki and a Dutch Nurse identified as Ms. Jessica have been recovered from the crash site. Mr. Shrestha was promoted to Captain earlier last month.
According to Armed Police Force Nepal, the helicopter carrying medical team and medicines for earthquake victims was flying back to Kathmandu from Tembathan of Gumba VDC and hit a 132 KVA transmission high tension wire of electricity and caught fire before it crashed down into the forest.
