Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has passed away last night at 12:50 am at the age of 79 years.
The family source has informed that Koirala passed away at his residence at Maharajgunj.
According to Koirala’s personal doctor Dr. Karbirnath Yogi, Koirala was suffering from pneumonia since one month due to changing weather. He has been given three different antibiotics together after the bronchitis pneumonia.
His condition was normal until Monday evening as he ate normal and his oxygen supply was increased but he suddenly passed away at 12:50 am due to respiratory failure.
Meanwhile party senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has informed that emergency Congress Party meeting will be held at 11 am that will discuss about the situation aftermath of party president’s demise and decide to withheld all the ongoing program of the General Convention of Nepali Congress scheduled for next month.
According to Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel, Koirala’s body will be at his residence at Maharajgunj until 8 am and will be moved to Congress Party Office at Sanepa for last tribute to Koirala.
