This week , an issue related to the online visa processing for Nepal entry has surfaced on controversy when the government is preparing to give the job to some foreign company.A lot of responsible Nepalese citizen have condemned this move from the government specially Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam who has been defending the process, as he claims the process to be a necessary process for upgrading the online visa processing in Nepal’s immigration where most of the Immigration staffs don’t speak English and don’t have computer knowledge that compels him to give the contract to some foreign company for certain time until we Nepalese have the necessary equipment (hardware) and the software professionals.
This has infuriated many youths who are against the process of giving away the job to foreign companies thinking that the personal information of anybody entering to Nepal might be misused.Some of the youths are saying that they are capable of developing such software where the modern system of collecting information in a centralized system is possible.Here lies the question if the government wants to give them a try, after all this will help to bring a lot of Nepalese professionals living inside and outside the country into light.
In our opinion, Mr Mahabir Pun who is well known among Nepalese and the world for his innovation in the remote area wireless internet in the mountainous are of Nepal could be capable of developing such software.We saw in Mr Pun’s Facebook page that he feels insulted for Home Minister’s irresponsible statement that we don’t have such talent in Nepal.Home Minister may not be aware of this man’s talent so we put forward this demand here as a responsible citizen, Dear Home Minister ! let Mr Mahabir Pun do the Online Visa Processing Job.
