nepal beats india on saff champion final 5-4
 
Nepal has won the title of the First SAFF U-19 Championship defeating India 5-4 on penalty shoot out in the match played at ANFA ground on Saturday. In an exciting match played on Saturday, Nepal has scored their first goal on the 31st minute when Nepal earned a corner shot after a powerful shot by Anjan Bista was saved by Indian Goalkeeper. Tej Tamang unmarked scored on an easy ball after the Anant Tamang’s header was rebounded following the corner kick by Anjan Bista.The first half was ended with 1-0 although Nepal had created several moves. India on the second half became more aggressive and made several unsuccessful attempts. India got the equalizing  penalty on the 84th minute due to Dinesh Rajbanshi’s handball for Nepal team. The match went for Penalty after the regular time ended in 1-1 draw.
Nepal’s goalkeeper Sojit Gurung had stopped the first shot by India’s Moinuddin.Rest of the players from both sides scored resulting 5-4 victory for Nepal.
This is the first major trophy for Nepal in 22 years.Nepal had won gold medal in the SAFF Games in 1993.
