flooding in mid western nepal kills 65
 

Non-stop rainfall that led to flooding and landslides across mid-western Nepal has killed at least 63 and 160 people are still missing. Thousands of people have been displaced from their home who have been forced to live in miserable condition. The rescue and relief job haven’t been sufficient as the disaster has affected many districts within few days of the week. The flooding has abstracted the Gularia-Nepalgunj, Kothiyaghat and Magaragadi sections of the highway leaving hundreds stranded who have been living around the higher area of the highway.


21 Bodies recovered on Saturday
 
The weather has improved since Saturday and 3 of Nepal Army Helicopter has started rescuing more than 500 stranded in the flooding and landslides. More 21 bodies were found on Saturday from different area of Surkhet, Bardiya, Danga dn Banke.Meanwhile India has committed to help on rescuing people from the flooding and landslides and said their helicopter and planes are on standby.
The local administration has provided noodles, beaten rice and water at some area but many of the affected haven’t got food for last 2 days.
 
9 found dead in Bardiya and 7 in Dang

Nine bodies have been recovered in Bardiaya on saturday which makes the death toll 15 in Bardiya only. Nepal Army helicopter has rescued 280 people from Krishnashar, 35 from Padampur area and 3 from Baniyarbhar.
Likewise 7 more bodies have been recovered in Dang.Non-stop rain and flooding in Babai  had destroyed homes killing 6 people. Nepal army has rescued some people from Lalmatiya area.


Death toll Rises to 25 in Surkhet

According to Assistant CDO Jagat Bahadur Basnet, 25 people have been died and 100 are still missing in Surkhet.Fourteen homes have been washed away from the flooding at Satakhani VDC whereas the highway has been blocked due to the landslide in Chhinchu.Nepal Army has been working to clear the road whereas many stranded in  Latikoili and Itaram area have been rescued by the rubber boat.
 

4 Dead in Banke

Death toll in Banke has risen to four after 2 more bodies were found on Saturday. Bishal Adhikari-11 was found drowning in Kiran drainage in Kohalpur whereas body of Nanmun Shesh-33 from 9-Holiya was recovered from Sutaiya Drainage.Four more are still missing according to CDO Jiban Prashad Oli.

Home Minister Bamdeb Gautam has agreed that the government is not able to provide timely rescue and relief operation although they have been trying their best.
